Enjoy the train ride on your way to board the Becky Thatcher for a cruise to view the spectacular phenomenon of hundreds of thousands of tree and barn swallows converging on the lower Connecticut River. This amazing sight of the birds in a beautifully choreographed "dance" only happens once a year for a limited time. Join us this early fall  as we deliver you to the show. Guests are welcome to bring their own food (no food will be available for purchase on the boat). 

Cash bar is available onboard for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
(Due to our liquor permit, no BYOB allowed)

TERMS & CONDITIONS

• Check In and Train Boarding Essex Station: 5:15 pm
• Train Departure from Essex: 5:30 pm (The train can not hold for late arriving guests; train and boat do depart on schedule)
• $10.00 of each ticket price is a non-refundable, non-transferable processing fee
• Alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverages for purchase onboard boat No beverages, especially alcoholic beverages, may be brought aboard the boat due to our liquor license.
• General seating on the boat
• Reservations and payment are required for all guests; it is strongly recommended that guests be 16 years or older
• Reservations are non-refundable, but fully transferable ($10.00 per ticket transfer charge applies) with 48-hours notice. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable for late arriving guests and no show guests .
• The Valley Railroad reserves the right to alter equipment, schedule, and menu when necessary. This event does operate in most weather.
  

Physical tickets will not be mailed or emailed. You will be checked-in upon arrival starting at 5:15 pm at the Essex Station 1 Railroad Ave. Essex, CT 06426
